Ubisoft Reports Lower than Expected Sales for Recent Releases

RaymanLegends

Following on from the Watch_Dog delay news on this site this morning, it would seem that Ubisoft have more bad news. Both Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Rayman Legends have fallen short of sales targets, reducing annual sales expectations from $1.94 to $1.38 billion. This is probably due mostly to the fact that Ubisoft’s 2 main games, Watch_Dogs and The Crew have been delayed into next year.

Interestingly Ubisoft are blaming the imminent console launches as a reason for lack of sales. Saying that gamers are reluctant to purchase new titles ahead of next-gen consoles. Do you guys feel this way? I can’t say that the idea of a new console is stopping me from buying the games I want to play on this generation but then I know I’m an oddball! How about you guys, are you holding back on new releases so you can purchase a next-gen console?

We’ll have a review of Splinter Cell: Blacklist up on the site soon too!
